Home Ownership Initiative


Purpose

The purpose of the Home Ownership Initiative is to stabilize housing opportunities by providing assistance to low income families with the purchase and retention of their own homes. This program is conducted in collaboration with the Rochester Housing Council.

What we do

The program provides legal representation and legal counseling in matters involving the following cases:

  • Pre-purchase counseling and home purchases
  • Foreclosures
  • Predatory lending claims
  • Bankruptcies in order to preserve the residence

Who Qualifies for the Program

  • Low to moderate income homeowners in the City of Rochester
  • Low to moderate income first-time home buyers in the City of Rochester

How to Apply for Services

Cases are pre-screened through the Rochester Housing Council. Call 585.546.3700 to apply.
